Chemical - Basic Training

The scope of this course is to familiarize participants with chemical warfare agents (CWA) and their respective properties and how to deal safely with incidents involving chemical materials. The participants will learn the effects of chemical materials and the measures they can take to protect themselves against them.

Course Aims

Participants will:

  • learn the chemical and physical properties of chemicals and chemical warfare agents
  • learn to use the different detection technics
  • learn detection technics in basic tactical situations
  • learn basic sampling technics
  • learn the decontamination basics
  • perform basic detection and decontamination scenarios

The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with CWAs.

 

Prerequisites

Participants should be:

  • medically and physically fit (Employer to provide a medical clearance for the employee to work in personal protective equipment)
  • medical insurance valid in Europe/ Austria
  • able to understand instructions/training delivered in the German or English Language
  • 18 years of age as a minimum
  • female participants must not be pregnant
     

Chemical - Emergency Response Training

The scope of this course is to familiarize participants with the response to chemical warfare agents emergencies, originating from either chemical weapons (finds) or terroristic attacks.

Course Aims

Participants will:

  • understand the different types of use and the spread of CWA
  • be able to detect chemical warfare agents in complex scenarios / situations
  • be able to take samples in complex scenarios / situations
  • be able to handle complex decontamination tasks
  • perform complex detection Tasks

The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with CWAs.
 

Prerequisites

Participants should be:

  • medically and physically fit (Employer to provide a medical clearance for the employee to work in personal protective equipment)
  • medical insurance valid in Europe/Austria
  • able to understand instructions/training delivered in the German or English Language 
  • 18 years of age as a minimum

Chemical - Incident Commander Training

The scope of this course is to train participants in management of emergencies (leadership) with chemical warfare agents, originating from either chemical weapons (finds) or terroristic attacks. Participants will also learn consequence management and the basics in warning and reporting.

Course Aims

Participants will:

  • learn to manage an emergency with chemical warfare agents
  • learn to warn and to report
  • be able to perform a hazard assessment

The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with CWA.

Radiological - Basic Training

The scope of this course is to familiarize participants with radioactivity and its respective properties and how to safely work with sealed and unsealed (open) radioactive sources. The participants will learn the effects of radiation and the measures they can take to protect themselves against it.

Course Aims

Participants will:

  • understand the basics in radiation protection
  • gain confidence in the work with sealed and open radioactive sources
  • be familiar with the use of detection equipment
  • be familiar with orphan and misused sources
  • gain confidence in the use of personal protective equipment in a live environment
  • understand and be able to apply safe work practices

The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with sealed radioactive sources.


Prerequisites

Participants should be:

  • medically and physically fit (Employer to provide a medical clearance for the employee to work in personal protective equipment)
  • medical insurance valid in Europe/Austria
  • able to understand instructions/training delivered in the German or English Language

Radiological - Emergency Response Training

The scope of this course is to familiarize participants with the response to Radiation Emergencies, originating from either radiation accidents, orphan sources, illicit trafficking or the malicious use of radioactive material.

Course Aims

Participants will:

  • understand the basics of Radiation Emergencies
  • understand the malicious sue of radioactive material
  • gain confidence in how to respond to radiological incidents
  • gain confidence in the work with sealed and open radioactive sources
  • be familiar with the use of detection equipment
  • gain confidence in the use of personal protective equipment in a live environment
  • understand and be able to apply safe work practices

The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with sealed radioactive sources.

  • understand the basics of the incident commanders’ tasks and responsibilities
  • be familiar with different radiological incidents
  • learn how to handle radiological incidents
  • learn how to support/ be the incident commander
  • learn the basics of the warning and reporting system according to ATP45
  • gain confidence in the work with sealed and open radioactive sources
  • be familiar with the use of detection equipment
  • gain confidence in the use of personal protective equipment in a live environment
  • understand and be able to apply safe work practices

  • gain confidence in how to safely and efficiently decontaminate equipment, vehicles and personnel
  • understand how to handle radioactive waste
  • be familiar with the use of detection equipment
  • gain confidence in the use of personal protective equipment in a live environment
  • understand and be able to apply safe work practices.

The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with sealed radioactive source.

Biological - Basic Training

The scope of this course is to familiarize participants with biological hazards and its respective properties and how to safely work with it. The participants will learn the effects of biological warfare Agents on humans.

Course Aims

Participants will:

  • learn detection technics in basic tactical situations
