Christian Reichel pre-priced with an international research price

In this year's anti-doping workshop of the German Sports University in Cologne Dr. Christian Reichel was selected by the jury as this year's winner of the Manfred Donike price (named after a pioneer of the anti-doping research).

His long-term research has been recognized in the field of the detection of recombinant Erythropoietin (rEPO) in urine and blood in general. And his new approach to the indubitable proof of each form of rEPO with only a single assay by internationally renowned experts appreciated.

Dr. Reichel is an internationally recognized expert on Epo and the first Austrian who was allowed to receive this award.

For years he is a member of the WADA expert group for the detection of EPO-doping and co-author of a technical internationally binding document to harmonize the Epo-proof.
