In near future Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology will play a major role in the areas of short range communication and wireless body area networks (WBAN). In such applications UWB-transceivers will be operated on or, for medical purposes, even inside the body.
The absorption of the emitted UWB signals in the body as well as their complex propagation characteristics are essential parameters with respect to the quality of the communication channel.
