Regular Calibrations

The measurement of radiated emissions requires knowledge of the relationship between the electromagnetic field and the readout value of the test instrument. This relationship is determined during calibration. Given that this relation may change over time - depending on the type, quality and use of the instrument - regular calibration is necessary to ensure reliable measurements and is a requirement for all accredited test laboratories.

Seibersdorf Laboratories’ accreditation for calibration is issued by the Austrian Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth (BMWFJ). Calibration certificates are recognized in all EA (European cooperation for accreditation) member states and in all ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) countries and therefore accepted world-wide.

Manufacturer-Independent validation of radio frequency propagation

EMC testing and antenna development for mobile communication requires a suitable environment with known RF propagation characteristics. Over 15 years ago, Seibersdorf Laboratories specialized in traceable validation according to international standards and customers’ requirements. The scientific findings of Seibersdorf experts are published at international conferences and implemented in CISPR and CENELEC standards.

The validation service is offered for all kinds of EMC test sites, for antenna test sites and for calibration sites according to civil, military, automotive, telecom and customer-specific requirements.

Customers include test laboratories and all major manufacturers of test sites. Over 450 sites world-wide have been validated. Our main activities are in Europe, China, Korea, India and Taiwan. Validation reports are accepted world-wide in all ILAC countries because of our accreditation as test laboratory 312.
